Cincinnati, Ohio. Contentra Technologies, one of the most respected companies in the business of editorial and project support for K–12 education publishers, welcomes Jonathan Schmalzbach as its first Vice President of New Business Development.
Schmalzbach, who joined Contentra in July of this year, brings over 25 years of experience in educational publishing spanning many roles.
“Jonathan brings a singular perspective having worked in so many facets of education publishing and technology,” observed Contentra SVP Bill Faber. “His experience in leading content and curriculum teams allows him to understand the needs and realities of educational publishers. The teams he led produced courses, content, correlations, digital media, assessments, and more—he understands from experience the need for quality, on-time delivery, and price sensitivity.”
Schmalzbach also has experience selling directly into schools and has a keen awareness of how schools deploy the many facets of digital curriculum and its use in the classroom, understanding the importance of smart UI/UX design and the challenges teachers and students face in using blended curriculum. Moreover, he has spent many years working with educational publishers on the vendor side.
“I’m thrilled to be part of the Contentra team,” Schmalzbach enthusiastically shares. “This organization values transparency and quality above all. If there are projects that we feel we are not the best partner for, we will be up-front in letting customers know. The work the editorial and alignments teams do is superlative and well-known throughout the education publishing industry.”
Faber adds, “Jonathan’s extensive experience and expertise continues to position Contentra Technologies as the nation’s go-to development shop.”
