Gayathri was born in Chennai and completed her degree in Business Administration at Madras University. She was actively involved in management of an IT distribution company in Dubai that had locations throughout the world and represented well-known IT brands such as Apple, Samsung, Lenovo, and Dell, among others, with an annual revenue of $1 billion (USD) at the time.

 

As a Non-Resident Indian (NRI), Gayathri spent over 20 years living outside the country before returning at the end of 2016.
