Cincinnati, Ohio. Contentra Technologies, one of the most trusted and respected companies in the business of editorial and project support for K–12 education publishers, welcomes Karen Hamilton as our new Editorial Director of Math.

Hamilton has led the development and production of high-quality math content for over 20 years.

“Karen’s skill set and experience are just what our clients need,” observed Contentra CEO Bill Faber. “She has a comprehensive knowledge of both Common Core and state-specific mathematics standards, and she’s led the development and production of print and digital basal and non-traditional math programs and their supporting components, everything from Student and Teacher Editions, Professional Development materials, Assessments, and supplementary products like videos, animations, and classroom presentations.”

Karen’s many years at HMH, her time as a teacher and educator, and her previous vendor supplier experience provide her with a unique view when it comes to executing the vision for a product. Karen believes that clarity is crucial to developing good math content, and questions like “How will teachers use this in the classroom?”, “What support do teachers and students need?”, “Does this measurably align to the standards?” and “How can that be more clearly understood by students?” are vital to creating a product with the desired educational outcome while providing a great user experience.

Faber adds, “We believe that Karen helps position Contentra as a go-to-vendor for all things math-related, and we couldn’t be happier to have her on the team.”
